A New Year’s Wish 1.1.17

It is a time of year when we reflect, evaluate, and goal set. In this spirit, humor me for a moment because I want to be your cheerleader.

When I celebrated NYE 2014, I would not have imagined celebrating NYE 2017 as a world wander who traded a job, home, and stability for 12 kilos of possessions and a wealth of stories, friends, and experiences. Not everyone wants to long term travel and that is great! As you identify what brings joy in your daily life, remember no goal is too small or too large. With intention, dedication and support from others, outlandish and ordinary dreams become reality.

I wake up every day grateful to be living this Year of Sarah Joy. Some days are hard. Some days my body or heart aches. And some days are chaotic, hilarious, non-sensical to a western mind, messes. Every day though this journey is magical and special. I am loving my opportunity to live so many new experiences, fun moments, and challenges. I am so alive.

Through my actions preparing for and living The Year of Sarah Joy, I taught myself to believe anything is possible. In this new year, my wish to you is for the same. May you also know and believe anything is possible and you can make it happen. I will be cheering for you 110% of the way.

A quick look at a highlight video from the past 4+ months of travel:

    1. Happy 2017 Laura!! Thanks for taking time to watch the video and send me a note. I’m not at all surprised it’s one you liked – not quite the travel channel but still very special. Hug from India!

It is amazing how we can grow and change. We cannot even imagine what our lives will look like in five years or ten. I hope you have lots of joy on the rest of your journey. Also, still rooting for that NorthFace rain jacket that is taking up all of the pack space!

    1. Amen to that. Reading your year end posts about the year in the life of a new parent only highlight the idea that we have no idea what is to come! Thanks for the well wishes Kat and the same to you in 2017. In terms of gear: I’ve worn the rain jacket maybe 6 times. All in northern India when I was FREEZING. I slept in it three nights. So, that’s something:)
